On September 24, 2024, at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul, the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Sung-Jin Kim, presented a performance titled Opera Essentials. Soprano Mi-Hwa Park, baritone Antonio Yang, and tenor Myonghyun Lee graced the stage, delivering beautiful melodies to the audience.
This concert was designed to make classical music more accessible to a broader audience and featured a unique “pay-what-you-wish” ticketing system, where attendees could select an amount between 1,000 and 10,000 KRW (approximately $0.75 to $7.50 USD).
With all 3,000 seats sold out, the performance was met with enthusiasm as many enjoyed the opera experience. Commentary by Min-Kyu Cho of the vocal group Forestella further helped attendees feel more connected to the music, making classical music feel approachable and enjoyable.
It was a successful concert, bringing joy and inspiration to many.
