On September 21, 2024, Korea's only mountaintop concert, the Munhak Mountain Concert, was held at the summit of Munhak Mountain. With the stunning night view of Incheon as the backdrop, the concert featured the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Christopher Lee. Tenor Konstantin Lee, saxophonist Brandon Choi, and soprano Yae-Eun Choi delivered powerful performances, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Munhak Mountain, once the sacred mountain of the ancient kingdom of Michuhol, was used as a U.S. military site after the Korean War, restricting civilian access for decades. Since opening to the public in 2015, the Munhak Mountain Concert has grown into one of Incheon’s major cultural festivals. This year’s concert, met with enthusiastic applause from many citizens, provided a unique and memorable experience on the summit of Munhak Mountain.
