From August 18 to 25, 2024, Konstantin Lee performed the role of Cassio in Verdi’s Otello at the Seoul Arts Center. This production was a collaboration between Seoul Arts Center and the Royal Opera House in London, originally staged in 2017. The performance featured the brilliant direction of Keith Warner, revived by Katharina Kastening, and was conducted by the esteemed Carlo Rizzi.
The production starred renowned tenors Yonghoon Lee and Marco Berti sharing the role of Otello, with baritones Franco Vassallo and Nikoloz Lagvilava portraying the cunning Iago. Sopranos Hrachuhi Bassénz and Michelle Hong brought the role of Desdemona to life with their beautiful interpretations.
Konstantin Lee’s portrayal of Cassio received high praise from both audiences and critics alike, adding another successful chapter to his growing career. This Otello production was celebrated for its powerful performances and stunning staging, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who experienced it.
